Your first minute

1. Start typing. There is no account, setup screen, or document list.
2. Watch the small status marker. Red means not saved, amber means saving, and green means saved or synced.
3. Press Command/Ctrl + K whenever you need formatting, history, import, export, or help.
4. Export a Markdown file occasionally if the writing matters.

Markdown without the clutter

Typehere stores ordinary Markdown. Markers recede when your cursor leaves the active line, but the file remains portable plain text. Use Show all Markdown source in the command palette whenever you want to see every marker.

Use the eye button or Command/Ctrl + Shift + \ to temporarily replace the writing on screen with abstract redaction bars. The privacy veil changes only what is visible; toggling it does not alter local storage, history, or sync.

Local saves and history

The current document and up to 50 saved revisions live in this browser profile. Local history is recovery help, not a durable backup. Clearing site data, losing the device, or using a different browser profile can remove it.

• Export Markdown downloads a portable .md copy.
• Import Markdown opens a local text or Markdown file up to 5 MB.
• Clear document empties the editor but leaves the prior text in local history.

Use encrypted sync on your other devices

1. Select the red Not synced status.
2. Complete the brief Cloudflare security check. It protects the relay from automated abuse.
3. When the marker turns green, select Synced to copy your private access link.
4. Open that link on your other device. Typehere verifies and decrypts the document in that browser before replacing anything local.

Limits worth knowing

• Encrypted sync holds one current snapshot, not a remote revision history.
• The encrypted snapshot limit is 1 MiB, including encryption overhead.
• A remote snapshot expires 30 days after its latest accepted update.
• Two devices editing at the same time can conflict. Let one finish syncing before continuing on the other.
• Typehere is for text. It does not upload embedded images or fetch remote Markdown previews.

If something looks wrong

Your local text remains the first recovery source. If sync fails, keep the tab open and export immediately. If a linked document will not open, confirm that the entire URL—including the part after #—was copied. Browser privacy tools, a blocked security check, or an expired remote snapshot can also prevent access.
